Portugal
Sun, ocean and easy living
Portugal charms with its golden light, yellow trams, azulejo tiles and cliffs plunging into the Atlantic. From melancholic Lisbon to Porto and its wine cellars, the country offers the Cameroonian traveler a sunny, welcoming and among the most affordable corners of Europe, with generous seafood cuisine.

The visa, step by step
How to apply
Portugal has no visa service in Cameroon: the Spanish embassy in Yaoundé handles Schengen visa applications for Portugal (representation agreement). Prepare a complete file, request an appointment by email at emb.yaunde.citvis@maec.es (subject: SCH; attach the passport bio page and your travel programme, 1 MB max), pick a slot on the booking platform you are sent, then submit your file IN PERSON, with fingerprints taken.
Required documents
- Passport valid at least 3 months beyond the planned exit date, with 2 blank pages
- Completed and signed Schengen visa application form + recent colour photo, light background
- Travel medical insurance (min. €30,000)
- Flight and hotel bookings (or invitation letter), itinerary in Portugal
- Bank statements for the last 3 months, proof of employment and national ID card (originals + photocopies)
Good to know
- •The Schengen visa allows travel across the 29 Schengen countries.
- •Portugal must be your main destination (where you spend the most nights); otherwise apply to that country.
- •Request your appointment early: the Spanish embassy replies by email and you must wait at least 10 days before writing again.
