The 2030 World Cup is played in Morocco, Spain and Portugal. With a Cameroonian passport, a single visa can open all three countries… if you tick the right box when you apply. We'll tell you which one at the end.

The 2030 World Cup in brief

  • Three opening matches in South America (Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay), to celebrate the World Cup's 100th anniversary.
  • Then the whole tournament is played in Morocco, Spain and Portugal, from mid-June 2030. The final is scheduled for 21 July.
  • Around twenty stadiums (11 in Spain, 6 in Morocco, 3 in Portugal). And the final? Madrid, Barcelona or near Casablanca: not decided yet, with an answer expected around 2028.

The Schengen visa: one visa for Spain and Portugal

Spain and Portugal are part of the Schengen area: a single visa covers both.

In Cameroon, the Spanish embassy in Yaoundé handles the application, even for Portugal. Fee: 59,000 FCFA (€90). Decision usually within 15 days (up to 45 days). No external service provider: you book the appointment directly with the embassy, and you submit your application no earlier than 6 months and no later than 15 days before departure.

What about Morocco?

It depends on your passport:

Cameroonianvisa at the consulate, or e-visa if you already hold a Schengen visa

For a Cameroonian, the Moroccan e-visa (on acces-maroc.ma) is only possible with a multiple-entry Schengen visa that is still valid for at least 90 days. It's all detailed in our article Morocco visa for Cameroonians.

The flight

Royal Air Maroc flies Douala to Casablanca direct (about 5 h 30). The route had been suspended from late May to early September 2026: it has resumed.

The craziest part is the price. In early October, on the airline's website, Douala–Madrid (with a stopover in Casablanca) was showing cheaper than Douala–Casablanca: €607 versus €956 return. On 22 October, Madrid no longer appears on the page, but Douala–Alicante (Spain) shows from €654, still cheaper than Casablanca (from €956). Always compare several final destinations before booking: fares change every day.

Between the three countries

  • Casablanca – Lisbon: about 1 h 20 of flying.
  • Tangier – Tarifa (Spain): about one hour by ferry with Baleària, up to 6 departures a day.

Budget on the ground

According to Travora, as a backpacker:

CountryOne week on the ground, excluding flights
Moroccoabout 300,000 FCFA
Portugalabout 300,000 FCFA
Spainabout 390,000 FCFA

The right box: multiple entries

When you apply for your Schengen visa, ask for a multiple-entry visa. Two reasons:

  1. Without it, once you've left for Morocco, you can't get back into Spain or Portugal: your single entry is already used.
  2. It's what unlocks the Moroccan e-visa, with a Schengen visa still valid for 90 days.
