Travora Student · 2027 intake

Study in France from Togo

For the 2027–2028 intake, applicants residing in Togo use Études en France. The campaign opens on 1 October 2026: application and payment are due by 15 December 2026 for first-year licence programmes and 31 December for other connected programmes. Campus France charges XOF 75,000, payable at Orabank after a payment request. Interviews run until 15 March 2027, replies until 30 April and final choices until 31 May. For non-connected programmes, the pre-consular procedure takes place at Campus France’s request from 15 May to 31 August 2027. After admission, visa applications go through France-Visas and CAPAGO in Lomé. Allow XOF 18,500 for CAPAGO and confirm the visa charge when applying: €50 on the national fee schedule, XOF 35,000 on older local sheets. Required resources: €877.50 per month. The estimated pre-departure subtotal is XOF 126,298–128,500, excluding financial resources, any tests, travel, tuition and costs after arrival.

The steps

  1. 1

Build your plan and choose programs[10][11][12][13]

    When: September → November 2026

Études en France catalog (connected programs) or direct application to non-connected schools. Campus France Togo recommends an average of at least 12/20 (from seconde to terminale for a first-year Licence), no repeated year in high school, and no downgrade of more than one year. Information sessions at the Institut français on 25/09, 30/09, 03/10 and 10/10/2026, Facebook Live every Wednesday from October 14 to November 4, 2026; Salon des études en France (study in France fair) in November 2026.

  2. 2

Create and submit the "Je suis candidat" application[1][7][14][15]

    When: October 1 → November 30 (L1) / December 31 (other levels), 2026 dates not confirmed

Registration on the Études en France platform (opened October 1). All scanned supporting documents must be ORIGINALS: final year of secondary school = report cards for seconde and première, bac 1 (probatoire) transcript, certificate of enrollment in terminale; higher education = transcripts with validated credits and proof of enrollment for the year; BTS = bac 1 and bac 2 transcripts and BTS admission. Documents in French: no translation. Previous campaign's benchmarks: first-year Licence before November 30, other levels before December 31 (2026-2027 dates to be read in the official calendar). The national DAP deadline is December 15, 2026.

  3. 3

    Language test: optional in Togo[1][16][17]

When: before submission if the institution requires it

"Language certifications are not mandatory in Togo", but recommended; TCF TP and DELF B2 / DALF exam notices are accepted. For the DAP, nationals of states where French is the sole official language (Togo is one of them according to France Éducation international) are exempt from the TCF DAP. An institution may require a test: it states so in its program page.

    • TCF / DELF at the Institut français du Togo (if required by the institution)[1](depending on profile)amount not found

      Fees not found on 12/10/2026.

  4. 4

Pay the application fee at Orabank[37][38]

When: upon receipt of the payment request

After submitting the application and receiving a payment request, pay XOF 75,000 at an Orabank branch and record the payment in Études en France. Campus France then checks the application.

    • Études en France application fee[37][38]75,000 FCFA

XOF 75,000 for the 2027–2028 intake, confirmed in both official PDFs. Pay at Orabank after Campus France requests payment.

  5. 5

Academic interview at the Espace Campus France[1][19]

When: after the application is validated (winter 2026-2027)Duration: 15 minutes

Conversation of about fifteen minutes with an Espace staff member (Lomé or Kara). Arrive at least 15 minutes early with the notice, an ID and the originals. An absence not justified at least 48 hours in advance counts as withdrawal from the procedure, with no refund.

  6. 6

Institutions' answers, final choice, "Je suis accepté" certificate[1][7][9][20]

    When: April → August 2027

Universities (DAP): answer no later than April 30, 2027; final choice to be confirmed no later than May 31, 2027. The admitted student then requests the Campus France certificate ("Je suis accepté" procedure), open from mid-May to end of August (May 15-August 31 in 2026). The visa is open only to applicants holding this pre-enrollment certificate.

  7. 7

    Gather proof of funds[3][21][22][23]

    When: before the CAPAGO appointment

€877.50 per month since August 1, 2026 (47% of the gross SMIC, French minimum wage), i.e. 575,602 FCFA per month and 6,907,227 FCFA for 12 months at the fixed rate of 655.957. Forms: scholarship certificate, bank statements, sponsorship by a guarantor (the Lycée français de Lomé mentioned in 2024 a sponsorship certificate legalized at the town hall). The €615 figure (404,000 FCFA) still quoted in Togo is outdated.

  8. 8

Apply for the long-stay student visa (VLS-TS, long-stay visa equivalent to a residence permit)[3][8][9][18][24]

When: from June 1, 2027 (appointment) until end of AugustDuration: at least 1 month before departure (France-Visas)

Form on France-Visas, then appointment at CAPAGO in Lomé (Campus France Togo handles no consular procedure). CAPAGO service fee: 18,500 FCFA, non-refundable. Reduced-rate visa fee upon presentation of the Campus France receipt: 35,000 FCFA (65,000 FCFA for a subsequent application, free for scholarship holders) according to the 2020 Campus France Togo sheet reused in 2024; the France-Visas fee schedule sets the reduced rate at €50. Documents uploaded on France-Visas: dedicated counter.

    • CAPAGO service fee[8]18,500 FCFA
    • Long-stay visa fee, reduced student rate[3][18][24]35,000 FCFA

FCFA amount from the 2020 sheet (and LFL 2024); €50 = 32,798 FCFA at the fixed rate. The exact amount is shown at the end of the France-Visas form.

  9. 9

    Decision and travel[8][25]

When: June → September 2027Duration: 15 to 45 days in general; up to 8 months if civil status is verified

Variable processing time; up to 8 months (4 months, renewable once) if civil status documents must be verified. France-Visas generally states 15 days, up to 45 days in particular cases. Do not buy a non-changeable ticket before the decision.

  10. 10

    Steps on arrival[26][27][28][29][30]

    When: September → December 2027

Validate the VLS-TS online within 3 months (€100 fee). Pay the CVEC (student life contribution, €105 in 2026-2027), then enroll; 2026-2027 tuition fees shown by Campus France Togo: €2,902 (Licence), €3,950 (Master's), €398 (doctorate), unless exempted. Free health insurance enrollment. No more APL (housing benefit) since July 1, 2026 for a non-European without a need-based scholarship.

    • VLS-TS validation fee[26][27]€100≈ 65,596 FCFA
    • CVEC 2026-2027[28]€105 / year≈ 68,875 FCFA

Differences and pitfalls

What differs from the general rule

  • Visa service provider CAPAGO in Lomé (neither TLScontact nor VFS), service fee of 18,500 FCFA.
  • Campus France fees of XOF 75,000 for the 2027–2028 intake, payable at Orabank after a payment request.
  • First-year Licence deadline earlier than the national DAP (November 30 versus December 15 in 2025-2026).
  • No mandatory language test in Togo; exemption from the TCF DAP (French as sole official language).
  • No legalization: scans of originals, and originals shown at the interview; the bac includes two transcripts (bac 1 / probatoire and bac II).
  • Reduced-rate visa shown in FCFA by Campus France Togo (35,000 FCFA); free for scholarship holders.
  • 2027-2028 calendar published only as an image: dates to be confirmed with the Espace (WhatsApp, Facebook Live).

Pitfalls to avoid

Paid intermediaries and fake documents[1]

Campus France Togo has "no outside partner"; a fake document leads to automatic refusal.

Missing the interview[1]

An absence not justified at least 48 hours in advance counts as withdrawal; the XOF 75,000 fee is lost.

Guarantor sized on €615[3][21]

Since August 1, 2026, you need €877.50 per month (575,602 FCFA), not €615 (404,000 FCFA) as in the 2024 documents.

CAPAGO fees not refunded[8]

18,500 FCFA lost even if the application is not submitted; visa fees not returned if refused.

Civil status verification[8]

Up to 8 months of processing if documents must be verified: apply early, with identical names and dates on all documents.

Bac transcripts no longer legalized since 2026[33]

According to the press, the Office du Bac issues duplicates (1,000 FCFA per document) instead of legalizing: useful for destinations that require legalization, irrelevant for Campus France.

Budget without APL[29][30]

Since July 1, 2026, no APL (housing benefit) for a non-European without a need-based scholarship; tuition of €2,902 or €3,950 on top, unless exempted.
