Study in France from Gabon
A student residing in Gabon must go through the Études en France procedure of Campus France Gabon, at all levels. The campaign for the September 2027 intake has been open since October 1, 2026: electronic application before December 10, 2026 (L1 and architecture) or January 8, 2027 (L2 to Master's), fee of 85,000 FCFA paid only by Moov Money after the payment request email, interview at the Espace Campus France of the Institut français in Libreville (no French test required of Gabonese nationals according to the 2024-2025 guide), final choice before May 31, 2027. The visa appointment is then requested through the Études en France messaging system (the ANBG handles it for its scholarship holders); application at the TLScontact center in Libreville, service fee of €29 (about 19,022 FCFA) in cash, half-price visa (€50) and free for Gabonese government scholarship holders. Since August 1, 2026, you must prove €877.50 per month (575,602 FCFA). Press reports describe a halt to new ANBG scholarships for France for 2026–2027. Reported continuation for some existing scholarship holders (engineering, PhD and medicine) does not establish an exception for new applicants. No official text specifying this measure or its 2027 rules was found on 13 October 2026. Rely on this funding only after receiving a written award in your name.

Admission route
Études en France procedure mandatory for any resident of Gabon applying for a first enrollment in French higher education. DAP track (L1 at university, schools of architecture) or non-DAP track (BUT, L2, L3, Master's, connected schools), seven choices at most. BTS, BTSA and CPGE go through Parcoursup (January-March 2027); arts and architecture through Campus Art; private schools that are not connected are applied to directly. These admissions obtained outside Études en France then follow the pre-consular procedure « Je suis accepté » ("I have been accepted", from May 1 to August 31, 2027), which issues the Attestation préalable d'inscription (API, pre-enrollment certificate) needed for the visa; holders of a French bac admitted via Parcoursup or to a private school follow it too.[1][3][4][5][6]
Admission procedure fees
Paid only by Moov Money (*555#, Paiement, Campus France), after the payment request email; non-refundable, even if the visa is refused. Exempt: French government scholarship holders, holders of a French bac less than 4 years old, admission obtained via an EEF application already paid.
- Campus France Gabon application fee (reduced rate)[1]42,500 FCFA
Change of field after a paid EEF application, admission via Campus Art, admission to another school after a visa refusal.

Differences and pitfalls
What differs from the general rule
- Campus France fee of 85,000 FCFA paid only by Moov Money, after a payment request email; reduced rate of 42,500 FCFA in some cases.
- Earlier calendar than in other countries: DAP before December 10, 2026, non-DAP before January 8, 2027.
- No French test required of applicants of Gabonese nationality; a single Espace Campus France, in Libreville.
- Visa appointment requested through the Études en France messaging system, or by the ANBG for its scholarship holders; TLScontact service fee of €29 (less than in Cameroon) paid in cash.
- Half-price visa for Campus France applicants and free for Gabonese government scholarship holders.
- Press reports describe a halt to new ANBG scholarships for France for 2026–2027. Reported continuation for some existing scholarship holders (engineering, PhD and medicine) does not establish an exception for new applicants. No official text specifying this measure or its 2027 rules was found on 13 October 2026. Rely on this funding only after receiving a written award in your name.
- No apostille in Gabon (not a party to the Hague Convention); for France, no legalization is required by Campus France.
Pitfalls to avoid
Counting on an ANBG scholarship[24][40]
Press reports describe a halt to new ANBG scholarships for France for 2026–2027. Reported continuation for some existing scholarship holders (engineering, PhD and medicine) does not establish an exception for new applicants. No official text specifying this measure or its 2027 rules was found on 13 October 2026. Rely on this funding only after receiving a written award in your name.
Guarantor sized on €615[19][21][23]
The Campus France Gabon VLS-TS page still cites €615; the threshold has been €877.50 per month (575,602 FCFA) since August 1, 2026.
Moov Money payment before the email[1][2]
Pay only after the payment request email; no refund in case of error, withdrawal or refusal.
Appointment sellers[4][38]
The student visa appointment is requested through the Études en France messaging system; TLScontact reminds that its appointments are not for sale.
Incomplete application at the interview[12][17]
Campus France Gabon rejects an incomplete application: come with all originals, 30 minutes early.
TLScontact centers outside Libreville[7][10]
The Port-Gentil and Franceville centers announced in 2023 no longer appear on France-Visas: check before traveling.
Forgetting to validate the VLS-TS[19][33]
Without online validation within 3 months (€100), your stay becomes irregular.
ANBG: distinguish a new award, continuation and renewal[40]
Article 3 of the 2025 decree distinguishes the coverage certificate for a new scholarship holder, continuation within the same cycle and renewal when changing cycles. A transfer to another study location also requires an application (Article 28). An announcement that existing holders in France will retain support therefore does not establish that new awards are available or that a change of cycle or country is approved. Obtain written clarification of your status, destination, cycle and covered costs for your own file.
