Travora Student: study in France, Belgium, Germany, Italy or Spain from Africa
Want to study in Europe? For your country and your destination, Travora Student gives you the whole process: admission, visa, funds to prove, fees, calendar and traps, with the official sources.
Going to study in Europe often means a year of paperwork: an admission, a visa, fees to pay, money to prove, dates you can't miss. And the information is scattered between Campus France, embassies, visa service providers and WhatsApp groups that aren't always up to date. Travora Student puts everything in one place, country by country, with the official sources.
What is Travora Student?
It's a free guide, on the website and in the Travora app, that follows a corridor: your home country to your country of study. For each corridor, you get the full process, in order, as it really happens from where you live: where to apply, how much to pay, how much to prove, and when.
Who is it for?
For school leavers and students who live in one of these 7 countries:
- Cameroon;
- Côte d'Ivoire;
- Senegal;
- Togo;
- Benin;
- Gabon;
- Congo-Brazzaville.
And who are aiming for one of these 5 destinations: France, Belgium, Germany, Italy or Spain. That makes 35 corridors, from the first year of a bachelor's degree to a PhD, with the special cases where they exist (private schools, short programs, foundation year).
What you'll find in each corridor
- The summary: the procedure in a few lines, with the key figures;
- Where to apply: the organisation, the visa centre and the cities (for example TLScontact in Yaoundé, Douala or Garoua for France);
- The steps, in order, with the fees for each step;
- The documents, with local details (legalisation, translations, criminal record…);
- The fees and the known cost before departure;
- The funds to prove: the amount, and the accepted proof (bank statements, sponsor, blocked account, scholarship);
- The calendar for the next intake;
- Processing times and the interview, if there is one;
- The traps that cost you time, money or the visa;
- The sources, numbered, with the date of the last check and a reliability level.
From Cameroon: the 5 destinations compared
Here is what the corridors say for students leaving from Cameroon, with the amounts checked again on the official websites on 13 October 2026. Euro amounts are converted at the fixed rate: €1 = 655.957 FCFA.
| Destination | Where to apply | Funds to prove | Procedure and visa fees | Reliability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| France | Campus France, then TLScontact (Yaoundé, Douala, Garoua) | €877.50 a month (≈ 575,600 FCFA) | ≈ 158,700 FCFA: Campus France 85,000 + 16,000 FCFA, visa €50, TLScontact service €38 | High |
| Belgium | ViaBel (Institut français, Yaoundé), then TLScontact (Yaoundé, Douala) | €1,062 a month (≈ 696,600 FCFA) | ≈ 358,100 FCFA or more: administrative fee €251, visa 165,000 FCFA, service 28,500 FCFA | Medium |
| Germany | Consular portal, then VFS Global (Yaoundé) | €11,904 in a blocked account, i.e. €992 a month (≈ 650,700 FCFA) | ≈ 172,200 FCFA or more: uni-assist €75, TestDaF 73,000 FCFA, visa 50,000 FCFA | Medium |
| Italy | Universitaly pre-enrolment, then BLS International (Yaoundé, Douala) | €10,179.85 a year (≈ 6.68 million FCFA, i.e. ≈ 556,500 FCFA a month) | ≈ 42,000 FCFA: visa 33,000 FCFA, BLS service 9,000 FCFA | Medium |
| Spain | Embassy of Spain in Yaoundé, no service provider | €600 a month (≈ 394,000 FCFA) | 59,000 FCFA visa fee, in cash, plus legalisations | Medium |
How to read this table:
- The funds to prove are not fees: it's the money you must show (bank statements, sponsor, scholarship or blocked account) to live there. In Spain, money held in a microfinance institution is not taken into account.
- The procedure and visa fees don't include tuition, the plane ticket or costs after arrival. In Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain, other items are added depending on your profile (diploma equivalence, language test, legalisations, insurance): each corridor page lists them.
- Reliability is the rating of the Travora page: "high" when everything rests on official texts we read, "medium" when part of it relies on reliable but indirect sources.
A sample calendar: Campus France Cameroon, 2027 intake
For France, everything goes through Campus France Cameroon's Études en France procedure. For the September 2027 intake:
| Step | Deadline |
|---|---|
| Online application (first year of a bachelor's and architecture schools) | before 15 December 2026 |
| Online application (BUT, second and third year, professional bachelor's, master's, engineering) | before 1 February 2027 |
| Academic interview | between 12 October 2026 and 1 March 2027 |
| Final choice of programme | before 31 May 2027 |
Each corridor has its own calendar: Belgium, Germany, Italy and Spain have their own dates, often earlier than you'd think.
4 traps that come up again and again
1. Old amounts still floating around online
In France, the student visa requires €877.50 a month for applications filed since 1 August 2026, up from €615 before. In Belgium, it's €1,062 a month for 2026-2027, up from €835 the year before. A sponsor or a bank statement sized on the old amount, and your application no longer holds up.
2. The 72-hour deadlines (France)
At Campus France Cameroon, you have 72 hours to pay after the payment authorisation, then 72 hours to fill in your visa details after the notification. Miss a deadline and you lose your slot. Campus France fees and visa fees are not refunded if your visa is refused.
3. Paying someone for an appointment
Your Campus France appointment link is personal: any attempt to book with a link you didn't receive officially gets your procedure cancelled. Same on the Italian side: BLS International reminds applicants that its staff never ask for payment to get an appointment.
4. Starting too late
The Embassy of Spain in Yaoundé refuses appointment requests made less than two months before classes start, and advises applying for admission a year in advance. For Germany, appointments at the embassy in Yaoundé are given several months out. Start with your corridor's calendar, not with the plane ticket.
In the Travora app: the Study tab
In the app, Travora Student has its own Study tab:
- All 35 corridors are free, just like on the website, and they update without waiting for a new version of the app;
- "Prepare my study file": you pick your corridor, and the app gives you the checklist of documents to gather and the key dates from the calendar, with reminders for dates set to the day. Everything stays on your phone;
- TravorAI, Travora's assistant, included in Travora Pro: ask your questions with your corridor as a reference (for example "Cameroon → France"), and it answers from the corridor's data.
Where to start?
Pick your home country on Travora Student, then your destination. A few corridors to get going: Cameroon → France, Cameroon → Germany, Côte d'Ivoire → France, Senegal → Spain.
